NELEVEN: Into the Void

The National Gallery of The Bahamas describes the void as an expansive space existing everywhere and nowhere at once, ripe with potential for opportunity and growth. It is a space, full of possibility, that connects everything — a metaphor for Caribbeanness, a void that was once waiting to be filled with people, culture, histories, and which we have had to define and redefine. Curated by manager Richardo Barrett and associate curator Letitia Pratt, National Exhibition 11 (NELEVEN): Into the Void — which opened in March — has invited artists across multiple media to imagine new ways of being through the lens of Caribbean futurism.
One Nation, New Symbols
National Gallery of Jamaica

At the core of this exhibition, curated by Monique Barnett-Davidson, are themes of reinvention, the interrogation of ideas, and reflections on the role of symbols in shaping Jamaican identity and social thought. Here, within the oldest and largest public art gallery in the Anglophone Caribbean, Jamaican visual artists explore cultural representation, national identity, and cultural discourse through symbols associated with their Jamaican culture.
Bermuda Art Month

Hosted at natural and cultural sites across the island, diverse exhibits and collaborations with/between local artists and galleries are highlights of Bermuda Art Month — providing opportunities to explore your creative side with stimulating art tours; art workshops on the beach; talks and discussions; and sip and paint sessions inside the gorgeous Prospero’s Cave with local artist Alshante Foggo leading the session.
